FAQ

How do I register

Each participant will need to register individually. A blue "Register" button is found on each session type page. Click on that link and begin to fill out the information. We will be using church accounts to register. Please ensure that you use the youth's church account to begin the registration process. Please remember your login information. Contact our registration office if you have any questions while accessing your registration.

Registration deadline

Online registration closes—

  • when the session is full or
  • at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Time 2 weeks before the session begins.

This same deadline applies to roommate requests

How old do I have to be to attend?

A youth must be at least 14 years old on or before December 31 of the year they attend, meaning that 13 year olds can attend as long as they will be 14 by the end of the year. A youth cannot be more than 18 years old on the first day of their session, meaning youth who are 18 may attend, but not those who are 19 as of the first day of the session.

What information will I need to register?

Registration for the program must be completed online. You will need the following information:

  • Church username and password (if youth do not have an account, they can create one in order to register)
  • Personal information: name, birth date, address, phone number, email address
  • Roommate’s registration confirmation number (if requesting a roommate)
  • Parental release information: parent/guardian name and phone numbers, physician name and phone number, insurance provider and policy number
  • Medical information: medication, special needs, or existing conditions
  • Dietary needs and allergy information, such as celiac disease, allergies to nuts, etc.
Can I register two or more youth on the same account?

It is not possible to register two or more youth on the same account. Each youth will need their own church account.

What are my options if the session I want is full?

If the session or program you would like to attend is full, email our office at efy@byu.edu

Occasionally, campuses may provide additional beds after registration opens. Those spots are posted as they become available. The office can give you some guidance on these possibilities.

What happens if my registration page times out?

If you are idle on the registration page for 30 minutes, you will automatically be timed out and will have to wait in the online queue to log back in. Also, if you are logged into the same account in more than one window or tab and any of the windows or tabs are left idle for 30 minutes, you will be timed out of all the sessions you are logged into (even if you are actively registering someone in one of the windows). If the spot for which you were attempting to register is gone when you log in again, you will have to wait and see if another spot opens.

How do I get a copy of my registration confirmation?

When you finish registering, you will receive an email with the confirmation page attached, or you can print a copy of the confirmation page. You can also log back into your account at any time and print a copy.

How can I check my registration information to ensure it is correct?

You can check your registration information by carefully reviewing the registration confirmation page sent to your email or by logging into your account by clicking on "My Account" at the top of the page.

You will receive a pre-session email 1–2 weeks before a session begins. If you think you are enrolled in a session and do not get an email, or you receive an email for a session you thought you dropped or transferred from, call the Registration office immediately at 801-422-8925, ext. 2. Fees are charged if changes are requested when a deadline is past.

Is it possible to register on-site on the first day of a session?

If space is available for participants to walk on, a parent/legal guardian will be permitted to register and make payment for their youth online using their personal mobile device or laptop. All required information and authorization agreements must be completed before a youth can be enrolled and allowed to attend. Cash or check payments can no longer be accepted.

NOTE: As we cannot guarantee a space for hopeful walk-on participants, please do NOT send your youth to register for a session as a walk-on if he or she cannot easily get back home. There is a high possibility that he or she will NOT get into the session due to limited space. Call the office to learn about the possibility of walking on for your desired session.

Requesting a Roommate

Roommate requirements—

Two youth of the same sex who are registered in the same session or program may request to be linked as roommates. Every effort is made in honoring roommate requests; however, they are not guaranteed.

How do I request a roommate when I register?

  • If you register before your desired roommate, you will not enter roommate information, but will give your registration confirmation number to your desired roommate.
  • When your desired roommate registers, he or she will type in your registration confirmation number. Your name will then appear as the roommate.
  • The selected roommate will be notified by email and will have the option to remove you as their roommate, in which case you will be notified.
What if my preferred roommate is registered and the session they are in is full when I try to register?

You have three choices:

  • Watch online for available openings in the session for which your friend is registered. If an opening becomes available, register and request your friend as a roommate. Openings may become available in full or on-hold sessions.
  • Register for a different session with two openings and have your friend transfer to the open session. You can transfer sessions up to 30 days before the start of a session at no charge.
  • Choose an open session and attend unaccompanied or with a different roommate.

With a positive attitude you’ll have a wonderful experience!

Can I edit my roommate preference?

To add, delete, or change your roommate preference, log into your account, and under Edit Enrollment click Housing. Enter the registration confirmation number of your preferred roommate or edit as needed. Roommate information must be finalized before registration closes.

Transfers
How do I transfer a registration from one session to another?

You may transfer from one session to another anytime up until 1:00pm Mountain Time, 30 days before the session begins until the session is full or closed. If space is not available in the session you want, keep checking back to see if a space opens up.

To transfer to another session, please call the Registration office at 801-422-8925, ext. 2.

PLEASE NOTE: If you select “Withdraw” you will be removed from the session and refunded your money, minus a $20 withdraw fee. This fee is nonrefundable, even if you withdraw by accident. Once you withdraw, you may not be able to get your spot back. It is your responsibility to confirm that your registration is complete and accurate.

Can I transfer my registration to another person?

The program does not allow one participant to take the place of another. University policy does not allow us to transfer funds from one youth’s account to another. Please follow the withdrawal procedure if you need to withdraw. If you have questions, please call the Registration office at 801-422-8925, ext. 2.

Withdrawals and Refunds
Is there a deadline for withdrawals?

Withdrawals must be completed by 1:00 p.m. Mountain Time 30 days before the session begins. Please make note of your deadline date as we cannot make exceptions due to date and time misunderstandings.

How do I withdraw from a session?
  • Go to our website, and click on the program you are registered in.
  • Click "Register Now" which will take you to the registration page
  • Click on "Already registered" and fill out the required information, using the email address you used to register for the program
  • On your confirmation page, scroll to the bottom and click "Cancel Registration"
  • Click the “Confirm” button that you wish to withdraw.

Print your confirmation page or write down the confirmation number for your records. A confirmation email will also be sent to the email address on file. If you do not receive a confirmation email or see the confirmation page, or if you have questions, please call the Registration office at 801-422-8925, ext. 2.

If you have any trouble with the withdrawal process, call the 801-422-8925 or send an email to ceregistration@byu.edu, and we will complete the withdrawal for you. If you choose this option, please provide the following:

  • Participant’s name
  • Confirmation number
  • Your relationship to the participant
  • The session from which you wish to withdraw

If you make a written withdrawal request but fail to provide all the above information, we will be unable to withdraw the participant from his or her session.

All emailed withdrawal requests must be time-stamped before the deadline (1:00 p.m. Mountain Time of the Monday 30 days before the session begins). A confirmation email will be sent to the email address on file. If you do not receive a confirmation email, the process is not completed. Contact the Registration office at 801-422-8925, ext. 2.

How much is the refund?

If you withdraw from an EFY session by 1:00 p.m. Mountain Time 30 days before your session begins, you will receive a refund, minus a nonrefundable $20 withdrawal fee. After that time, you will not be able to withdraw or receive a refund as housing and all other arrangements have been finalized. Payments have been made to institutions where EFY sessions are held and they will not issue refunds when a participant withdraws.

How do I receive my refund?

The refund will be put on the same credit card used to register. If the card is no longer active, the refund will still be automatically credited to that card’s account. You will need to contact your bank card provider to transfer this credit to an active account.

When will I get the refund?

You should receive a refund within three weeks. No refund requests will be considered after October 31 of a session year. Please call the Registration office at 801-422-8925, ext. 2, if you haven’t received the refund three weeks after withdrawals.

Is financial aid available?

Limited financial aid may be available. Interested individuals will find a link on our homepage once the financial aid application has opened.

Lost and Found

We strongly encourage youth to make every effort to gather all personal items before leaving the session.

Any personal items found at the end of a session will be held at the office for two weeks. Please contact us within that time period to coordinate the return of your belongings. Please note: any shipping costs for lost items will be at personal expense.

Unclaimed items remaining after the two week time period will be either discarded or donated to campus or charitable organization.
